Traveling can be tough especially when you are trying to eat healthy, nutritious snacks during the trip. Whether you are traveling by plane, boat, car or train these are a some good vegan options,
1) Nut mix and/or dried fruit
Both are energy-boosting snacks with fiber content. Nuts are loaded with protein, fiber and essential fats and dried fruit are also rich in fiber and they help to increase iron.
2) Pumpkin seeds
Pumpkin seeds have long been valued as a source of the mineral zinc, and the World Health Organization recommends their consumption as a good way of obtaining this nutrient. It’s a great and healthy snack to take on the go.
3) Dark Chocolate
Dark Chocolate is loaded with nutrients that can positively affect your health. Is a powerful source of antioxidants, it may improve blood flow and lower blood pressure and can improve several important risk factors for heart disease. Its richness in flavonoids could help thin the blood in the same way as an aspirin does, so I would suggest travellers to consider eating it before embarking on a long flight.
4) Homemade Granola Bar
Eating granola may help lower your cholesterol and prevent certain chronic diseases, such as heart disease and cancer. It can be taken anywhere, pretty conveniently for energy-boosting and is a much healthier alternative to most bars found in airports and gas stations.
5) Fresh Fruit
One of my favorite fruits to eat while traveling is grapes, the perfect substitution for sugar-laden and artificially-flavoured candy.
