5 Things You Absolutely Must Do In Florence

After landing in Rome the first thing to do was to rent an typical Italian Fiat 500 and drive all the way to Florence.

Florence is captivating and magical, you’ll fall in love with all the details!

Here is a list of  5 things you absolutely must do in Florence:

1) Check out the city from above

Get to the top of the Palazzo Vecchio tower and  fall in love with the panoramic views, those in which your eyes can wander and get lost.

2) Take a walk on the Ponte Vecchio

No visit to Florence is complete without at least some time spent dawdling on the Ponte Vecchio, looking at the glittering jeweler’s shops. There have been shops on Ponte Vecchio since the 13th century.

3) Visit Piazza del Duomo

The lovely Piazza del Duomo, with stunning architecture, is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence an it’s one of the most visited places in Europe and the world.

4) Visit Basilica of Santa Croce

The Basilica is the largest Franciscan church in the world and it is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, the poet Foscolo, the philosopher Gentile and the composer Rossini, thus it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories.

5) Go for a walk and get lost

Florence is stunning and it gets completely packed with tourists all year round, so it becomes almost impossible to get one on one time with the statues, the great piazzas and to take that perfect photo. I would recommend to get up early (at least once while you are there) and start your adventure, get lost and discovery true beauty of the city.

And… don’t forget to look up, everywhere you’ll find exuberant ceilings.
